The Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (MH-SET) for Assistant Professor is a state-level examination conducted by the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) on behalf of the Maharashtra Government. The exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges in Maharashtra.

Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for the Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (MH SET) exam are as follows:
- Educational qualification: Candidates must have a Master’s degree in a subject of SET recognized by the UGC university. Candidates must have a Post Graduate diploma or certificate degree awarded by the Indian University/Institute or a foreign degree/diploma/certificate awarded by any foreign university or institute.
- Marks: Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks in aggregate in the Master’s degree or equivalent examination or 50% marks for reserve category candidates (OBC/ SBC/DT(VJ)/NT or SC/ST /Trans-genders/PwD)
- Age limit: There is no upper age limit for appearing in the MH SET exam.

Exam Pattern
The MSET exam is a two-paper exam, with each paper carrying 150 marks. Paper I is a general paper on teaching and research aptitude, while Paper II is a subject-specific paper. The exam is conducted in offline mode, and the duration of each paper is 3 hours.
